Dheyanira Calahorrano, CHW-Herbalist
Dheyanira is a committed mother, social entrepreneur, and community health advocate at IntegrArte SF. She is from Ecuador and has lived in San Francisco's Mission District for many years. She works to improve the lives of Latino immigrants, focusing on women's health and empowerment. Her background includes being a research associate at UCSF UC Berkeley and a health coach at San Francisco General Hospital.
Dheyanira’s experience as an immigrant drives her commitment to bilingual education and cultural pride. She has greatly impacted her son’s education through homeschooling, using her knowledge in child development and self-directed learning. At IntegrArte SF, she fosters a lively bilingual environment that combines community health with herbalism and permaculture, enhancing the community with art, music, nature, and education.
She supports her community as a member of various advisory committees. Her dedication to tackling local issues shows her caring leadership and creative problem-solving, leading to positive change and cultural growth in the Mission District.
