Mushuk Nina Healing & Learning program

Integrate SF and the Comitè de las Madres Latinoamericanas collaborated to create a learning program in the Mission district, our goal was to offer tutoring and educational enrichment for our children. We aim to create an educational environment with families and workers participation, prioritizing personal health and educational choices over the trend towards digital-only learning. To support this initiative, we hosted a fundraising event, inviting community contributions. This effort is part of a broader movement to build a new approach to education and community development.

Día de los Muertos Festival at Everett School

We celebrated Día de los Muertos, a key tradition within the Latinx community. This day is cherished for its focus on life, love, and family, honoring ancestors who have passed. Our celebration included traditional altars with offerings, Aztec dances, prayers, and songs, along with typical items like copal, candles, papel picado, cempasuchiles, pan de muerto, chocolate, tamales, and more. Families brought photos of departed loved ones and were encouraged to set up grade-specific altars to foster connections among parents and students.

The event aimed to deepen ties within the Everett community through shared cultural practices and remembrances, celebrating our heritage and honoring the memories of those who came before us. Integrarte SF and SF Together hosted the event, highlighting its importance for community mental health and well-being.
